Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer had said "Even so, the creed of judicial independence is our constitutional 'religion' and, if the executive use Article 222 to imperil this basic tenet, the Court must 'do or die'.

The manner in which the Narendra Modi government is craftily encroaching and undermining the independence of the judiciary is a matter of great concern.

If the Judiciary is reduced to a mouth piece of the government, the Courts will lose all relevance and end up as dens of chicanery and jugglery. The Judiciary should never be manned by persons who are tilted or aligned to any political party. Judges should have the spine to crack on illegalities done by all politicians, regardless of how high positions they hold. It has to be ensured that judicial accountability is maintained at all times with all judges conforming to the highest standards of uprightness and integrity. If Judges cannot independently balance the scales of Justice, the temples of Justice become pointless.

Caroline Kennedy had very rightly said "The bedrock of our democracy is the rule of law and that means we have to have an independent judiciary, judges who can make decisions independent of the political winds that are blowing"

Venkatraman,

Surely you know Mr. Modi's policies are not his own but are handed down from his foreign vested interests.

Look around you today, all you see is a massive wipe-out of the economy, MSME industry is bleeding (but Modi fat cats like Ambani, Mittal and Adani prosper), farming is finished (ask your wife for onion, potato, dal and tomato prices), our national defence is back to where it was because we have run out of money to buy even basic ammunition (after squandering it on Rafales which are yet to come),  every month the mobile companies are raising their prices.

Why are youth protesting ? It is because they have no jobs.

Why are Indian Muslims protesting ? Because they are being targetted by RSS divisive vote-bank politics

Why are Hindus protesting CAA ? Because they know that Amit Shah and Modi are not Hindus.

Why is the middle class protesting : Because they fear loss of their jobs under these non-Hindus.

Who are the ones supporting Modi today : Only retired government servants (like myself) who enjoy their over-generous pensions, ECHS and subsidised canteen rations.

The Italian mafia Congress was bad enough, but these American mafia BJP are 10 times worse when it comes to corruption and exploiting the national wealth.

FYI, Mr. Modi needs no spokesperson when it comes to spewing his vicious brand of hatred and filth. He has been well trained in preaching RSS lies.

During the last 6 years, after assuming the  position as Prime Minister of India, there is no doubt that Mr.Narendra Modi has been striving hard to decisively improve the conditions in India in several spheres and in various walks of life. He has launched a number of meaningful, appropriate and innovative schemes that can have potentially far  reaching impact on   the country for the better. Such schemes are meant to bring about fundamental changes in the lifestyle and thought process of  Indians. Some of the  schemes that have been initiated are the first time efforts in India.

Multiple beneficial schemes and efforts

Mr.Modi has launched schemes to meet multi various needs of the poor and downtrodden people like housing  for the poor , construction  of thousands of toilets for poor house holds, electrification of rural areas, zero bank account for the poor people. He has taken steps to ensure that the benefits of the welfare measures would directly reach the poor people, has launched  health insurance schemes for the poor, crop insurance schemes for the farmers etc.,

Clean India Campaign, promotion of yoga culture and skill development programme for youth  are unique measures to improve the overall fibre and fabric of the Indian society.

Mr.Modi has made significant efforts to eradicate corruption in the government departments and public life. Realising the fact that without modifying and changing the systems=,  corruption can not be wiped out, several measures were initiated uch as digitalization, anti benami  law, Insolvency and bankruptcy regulations etc. Disciplinary actions against corrupt and inefficient  bureaucrats at top level in central government  has  been taken, which has never been done  on such scale before.

As part of stick and carrot policy, several raids on corrupt institutions and individuals have been launched to unearth tax evaded black money and corrupt dealings. Some "big names" involved in banking operations, media and business houses have been caught and jailed or actions initiated.

Corruption is so deeply rooted  in the country that it cannot be wiped out  in one stroke. It goes to the credit of Mr.Modi that anti corruption measures are now gradually yielding results, though it still has a long way to go.

While Mr.Modi has been reasonably successful in some of the schemes that  has been launched,   with regard to a few other schemes, there have been some hurdles,  and bottlenecks, with progress  not matching the needs and expectations. Certainly, the lack of sufficient success in corrective steps have not been due to lack of efforts, but in spite of it due to the huge challengers involved.

Some significant steps in second term

In the last few months, some of the steps taken by Mr.Modi are very significant that would correct historical mistakes that happened in India.

Abolition of Triple Talaq Practice has liberated  women belonging to Islam religion from harassment  by men folk and restored the  dignity  of the Muslim  women. Steps taken for abolition of Article 370 and effectively integrating Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh with rest of India is a bold measure of far reaching significance, which earlier  governments did not have the courage to do.

Citizen Amendment Act and NRC to regularize the citizenship in India is necessary, as  the  country should know, who are the citizens of India and who are not the citizens living in India at present . The  government has convincingly explained the logic of the policy to provide  Indian citizenship to harassed people belonging to minority communities in three neighbouring countries.  However, this logic appear to have fallen on deaf ears of the critics and false rumours amongst the Muslim community has been spread by  motivated critis.  Government has clearly said  that Muslims living in India would not be affected in India in any way but the vested interests do not want to hear this and continue to spread false rumours , that is causing violence.

Such measures have been initiated  by Modi government in a democratic way with the approval of the Parliament.

Courage of conviction

Mr.Modi has taken these measures clearly knowing that such steps would be resisted by vested interests and would lead to  communal interpretation and would be described by  motivated persons as  religious agenda.  Mr. Modi  has acted with courage of  conviction. Future history will judge these measures to be very appropriate and certainly they would stand  the test of time.

Motivated critics and hate campaigners

Almost all proactive measures initiated by Mr. Modi have been criticized by certain opposition parties, section of media and also by section of the so called intellectuals and activists, who do not  appear to have neutral  mindset and unbiased views.

It is very obvious   that several political leaders and businessmen who have been caught due to corrupt dealings and now  are on bail and several groups  getting inspiration from abroad and NGOs receiving funds from abroad who do not submit audited accounts and who have been justifiably banned  from receiving funds from abroad  do everything  possible to unseat  Mr.Modi from power. Political parties  who are increasingly getting scared  due to  popular image of Mr.Modi have been instrumental in the hate Modi campaign. It should be noted that though Mr. Modi's party has lost a few state assembly elections, the share of votes for Mr. Modi's party has not gone down. Obviously,  un principled political alignments between opposition parties have caused such setback.

Unfortunately, the critics, hate campaigners and section of media do not seem to realize that while they want to damage the  image of Mr.Modi by using abusive language  and  describing  Mr. Modi as Hitler, Nazi, Fascist, and even as  thief, they are spoiling the reputation of India in the global sphere.

.In a noisy democracy that India has, section of  motivated media  being owned by businessmen, politicians and religious institutions and Modi haters ,  the editors and anchors seem to  have fixed agenda and partisan  views.  Their sole aim seem to be to denigrade Mr. Modi at any cost, without recognizing the good that he has done. Such media is excessively publicizing and even going to the extent of justifying the recent violence in the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act.  While students in a very few  universities have protested , there are large number of  universities and students in the country who are not protesting.  Media is projecting only the protesting students. Why is this ?

Need for effective communication

Those who are in the know of  things  and have balanced perspectives think that  Mr.Modi is  sinned against rather than sinning .

Obviously, Mr. Modi's progressive policies and far sighted schemes are not being adequately publicized and communicated to the people in a way that common man can understand.

There have been lot of unsubstantiated propaganda in the media that Indian economy has slowed down and is in the verge of collapse. It is said that unemployment level in the country has reached an unmanageable level.  It is also said that recession has set in India.

Unfortunately, knowledgeable discussions with facts and figures are not much publicized in the media and most of the editors publish only articles and conduct discussions by  those who agree with their views. Several examples can be cited. For example, the renewable energy capacity in India has increased  in spectacular manner after Mr. Modi came to power and is likely to reach 100 GW by 2020. It is now feasible to  reach the target of 175 GW by 2022, fulfilling the promise that Modi has given to world community during the World Climate Conference. Why no media discuss this  ?

Mr. Modi speaks in parliament and in all meetings only in Hindi language , which large section of the country men in non Hindi speaking regions do not understand.  Several central government schemes are given title in Hindi language such as  Ayushman Bharat, Ujwala Yojana, Swachch Bharat, Sabka Viswas, Atal Bhujal Yojana and these title are like Greek and Latin for people in the non Hindi regions. Most of them do not understand these titles and think that they are really some matter not connected to them.

Today, major problem faced by Mr. Modi is due to the fact that his plans and schemes are not being explained to the people with facts and figures by credible spokespersons at different levels in various languages. It remains to be seen as to how Mr. Modi will tackle this issue.

The success of Mr. Modi in facing the onslaught of opposition parties,  motivated critics, section of media and hate campaigners depend upon how he would deploy the credible spokespersons all over the country to explain the issues in proper perspective.

It would be tragic if well intentioned moves of Mr. Modi  will remain unexplained to large sections of country men who may not have the acumen to readily understand the implications and significance of the progressive policy measures.

The song is produced by Munish Raizada Films. The beauty of the web series is that the story is about India Against Corruption (IAC)  and AAP (Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the producer of the web series himself has been a part of Aam Aadmi party.

'Bol re dilli bol' portrays the sentiments of common man who stands deceived due to systematic erosions of principles of Aam Aadmi party (AAP).

The latter  was born out of Anna Aandolan. The party used to claim that it would  bring change in the system (Vyastha Parivartan) and would provide alternative politics.

It is disappointing to see that Aam Aadmi party has disregarded its founding principles, viz. financial transparency, inner party democracy and internal vigilance (Internal Lokapl).

Raizada said that when volunteers and supporters remind the party leaders about chipping away with basic tenets of AAP, they instead argue to focus on party's governance in Delhi.

Well, governance is a very subjective topic. When Rabri Devi was the CM of Bihar, did Bihar go to dogs? What difference did Delhi see under Arvind Kejriwal, did it become London?  Governance is a continuous process and there are ups and downs to it.

Aam Aadmi Party did not come only for governance. What made the party different were its principles. People had faith and hope in the principles but Aam Aadmi party played with the sentiments of the public by dismantling its principles. The song reflects the dismay of each and every common man who gave his everything to see a better nation.

Raizada says that this song should not be construed as a propaganda or personal disgruntlement as that AAP leadership would claim. It is a creation of art. Moreover, it is a reflection of the dismay of party's core volunteers only.

[IAC#RG] IDF’s YEAR END GEO- ANALYSIS--------CHINA HAS RISEN TO MULTI-POLARITY

India gets its first CDS in Gen Bipin Rawat. LinkED.

IDF's YEAR END GEO- ANALYSIS——UNIPOLARITY IS TRANSITING INTO MULTIPOLARITY FOR CHINA & NO ONE SEEMS TO BE CO-OPERATING TO MEET THE RISE OF CHINA AS PRESIDENT TRUMP'S ARROGANCE HAS BECOME USA's CARAPACE TO UPSTAGE EU TOO—RUSSIA IS THE GAINER ! WHERE DOES INDIA STAND ?.

The year 2019 saw an upward momentum of China with its risen economy to Number Two in the world, vigorously attempting to force a transition from an 'unprecedentedly unipolar' world which was led by USA as its policeman, especially in the Middle East for two decades after it sank the Soviet Union in the Cold War. It has left Middle East in a mess, and US sanctions on Iran and Russia has drawn them closer with China, to attempt a grouping as the year ends with a first ever Naval Exercise in the Gulf where a US carrier is operating. Iran showed up a submarine and Indian Navy must be tailing!

Today USA is looking at askance with Carapace, which is the noun for the protective shell on the back of some animals such as tortoises, and India Defence Forum refers to it as an attitude of arrogance by Republicans in USA and more recently President Trump of USA who thought he had a protective shell to do as he pleased, and even entered into a un winnable Trade War with China. Trump was hoping to throttle China's technology rise unaware China had already absorbed, bought and poached major technologies like 5/6G, Robotics, AI and Space which are now maturing in China to threaten USA, also in the military sphere of Cyber. Future wars will be cyber and space based.

This situation and attitudes of USA has led to a weakening of NATO and a new 21st century 'international balance' characterized by multi-polarity and co-governance with China in International Affairs and Climate change. In the Far East it is evident as China grabbed the South China Sea without a challenge, despite currently the United States remains the world's only military superpower. War as a means has receded, and China has emerged as a critical player in this rebalanced world of diminishing U.S. power and influence, with a show of latest weaponry on 1st October celebrating its 70th anniversary with a massive parade, and never seen before with DF-17 Hypersonic missiles, that USA and the world has noted. Russia has followed up with showing of its Avanguard missile and a new class of submarines, with a better foreign policy and Oil led economy !

India's economy too arrived on the scene as PM Modi took reins, after PM Manmohan Singh inked a Nuclear Deal with USA. President Bush and Condelezza Rice in a Quid Pro Quo facilitated an approval by China in the Nuclear Suppliers Group(NSG) with China's top leadership, with a favour to Pakistan. China cited its Grandfather NPT agreement for another nuclear plant to Pakistan which fact is still doubted in India. China and Pakistan are close partners.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi mesmerized the voters in 2013 with his wonderful idea of a new India sans corruption and return of stashed FFE. Modi's appropriate local wardrobe for every occasion, growth from humble beginnings as a RSS Pracharak and powerful oratory. He was supported by Non Resident Indians(NRIs), especially in USA with the use of powerful messages on Social Media, especially by Gujararatis longing for a Gujarati leader after Gandhi and Sardar Patel. Modi arrived with a well deserved powerful showing at the hustings in 2014, and a more decisive one in 2019. PM Modi had and has, the full support of his party and compatriot Home Minister Amit Shah colleagues from Gujarat who tided the killings in the state in 2002 with the mixed BJP/RSS right wing cadres.

Slowly Hindu Nationalism got revived among the majority belt of India who revere Ram as the main Hindu character God who showed the path of righteousness. Ram is the central figure in the mythological Ramayana recited from ancient BC times and in Hinduism. It puts Vishnu the God that provides in the Hindu Triumvirate of Bramha The Creator, Vishnu the Giver and Shiva the Destroyer as Ram's incarnation. BJP made Hindus feel they are main inheritors of India and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat regularly makes it clear to all who live in India, they should follow Hindutva alongside their faith and demanded actions to please Hindus like one to make a Grand Ram Temple at the site of the Babri Masjid destroyed by BJP supporters in 1992. BJP put much into BJP's Election Manifesto.

PM Modi told US Congress India had put away the baggage of the past with USA. The composition was working and undoubtedly India has moved on the world stage with PM Modi's 'one to one' meetings with World Leaders and foreign policy maneuverings and a beefed up military that Pakistan tries to de-rail. China fears India's rise can be threatening and a QUAD poses challenges especially to its trade in the Indian Ocean Region and India's truck with USA with large military supplies. India has risen militarily and soon a CDS may harness the kinetic and deterrent power of India with jointness, to truly bare Indian Armed Forces capability.

Yet much energy and economy of BJP was spent by the Government on fulfilling the manifesto promises after galloping the economy to over 7.5 % with low Oil and Gas prices globally. Golden opportunities were available to amend Non Alignment policies with liberal economics permitted by Globalisation. Like in 1991-3, BJP could have opened the flood gates for Foreign Investments that the world looked to, and still does, but the Government lost its eye on the economy with RSS encouraging Swadeshi (Make do in India) so jobs did not expand in the manufacturing sector for a burgeoning youth bulge to indulge. Instead BJP Government with hard hold on Institutions tightened action on checking every business and defaulter payees. Good business lost confidence to take risks. Economy spluttered in 2019 and the spending for defence has consequently suffered most, and Government implemented no measures on fruitless spending best depicted by the galloping Rs 35,000 cr($ 5 billon) loss in Air India and growing, as oil and gas prices have soared.

China allowed its stashed wealth in Hong Kong into Shenzen and SEZs and capitalized on the opportunities presented by globalisation and the informatisation of a controlled society with Internet and AI and one party rule with technocrat leaders, to propel itself forward, economically, socially and technologically. China baited North Korea to take on President Trump and in the geopolitical context the security and defense implications for the region looked askance to China. ASEAN changed the contours of the Code of Conduct to maintain status quo in the South China Sea dispute with Laos and Cambodia backing away. Vietnam concentrated on its economy, to gain from Industries moving out of China with the US Trade War.

China sees a change in the types of conflicts for which it needs to prepare and in the domains in which it will be required to compete and potentially contest with nations and uses cheque book diplomacy in Africa. China has become a critical player in this rebalanced world of diminishing U.S. power and influence. In this geopolitical context there are security and defense implications for India and for the region.

India has targeted a challenging $ 5 trill economy by 2024 and will need immediately to grow at 8% to 10% at least to add to its $ 3 trillion GDP. China has again begun to grow at above 5% with some BRI investments and sale of defence goods paying off, and could add $ 750 bill a year to its $ 13 trillion GDP.

Hence India has to accept that with a slowing economy it has considerable limitations to what the Indian leadership can do.

So IDF feels India must employ Indian talent and business to deliver with a massive opening of its economy to private sector as it has FFE reserves, and let some un-actionable bygones be bygones and explain to RSS that is true SWADESHI ………..i.e Foreign investment and Technology with Indian labour and leave it to India's brilliant managers to deliver. It is not too late to postpone other issues in the Manifesto, and such deep nationalism. There can be Unity in Diversity with the laws India already has, and IDF hopes the Election Commission and the fine Judiciary remain true to the ideals of the Constitution to guide India high through choppy waters.
HAPPY NEW YEAR ! Shan No Varuna
